Health that runs itself
without you forcing it

Private coaching in food psychology and strength. We work on the reasons behind what you do, so eating well and training stop running on willpower.

I take on a handful of clients at a time, which is why I turn down work that will not hold. The call comes first and the plan comes after it, and neither costs you anything.

  • A written plan, after the call
  • Weekly private sessions
  • Messaging on working days
  • Food and training in one plan

What keeps happening

You know what healthy looks like
You are just not living it

  • You run a business and most of your life without much trouble. Your own health is the part that keeps slipping.
  • You could explain the food science and the training science to a friend over dinner. Knowing it has not changed what your week looks like.
  • Every diet and training plan worked for as long as you kept forcing it. Then the forcing wore off, which it always does.
  • So the next plan looks like the answer, with a bit more discipline this time.

How I think about it

Health should come from a place of freedom

Most plans hand you better rules and ask you to live inside them. The day the rules go, the results go too. I work in the other direction. The aim is an ordinary week where you eat what you want and train because you like it, and it goes well because what you want has changed. So I judge every phase the same way: do you come out of it with more freedom than you went in with?

If something starts to feel like restriction, we have got something wrong further back, and we change it.

The shape of it

Where a phase is meant to leave you

The first phase is quiet and reflective, and on paper not much moves. The second is short and demanding. The third is where you find out what survived it, and that is the one the whole thing is built for.

Where you started

  • Inner Monastery
  • Racing Mode
  • Cruising Mode
You come down from the push. You do not come all the way down. The gap between the dashed line and the last stretch is what you keep.

The phases

Three phases, in this order

  1. Go inward and get clear

    Inner Monastery

Where are you actually, and where do you actually want to go. This is where we find out where the decisions in your week are really being made, and what your own balance looks like rather than the one a protocol assumes.

“I know what my own balance looks like.”

  2. Push hard, for a defined stretch

    Racing Mode

Short on purpose. Strength work starting at around thirty minutes a week, with a Power Test at the start and another at the end, so the movement question gets answered with numbers instead of impressions.

    “I am someone who trains.”

  3. Back to normal life, a level up

    Cruising Mode

You come off the push and find out what stayed. Travel, family food, a stretch where nobody is watching. You bring back what actually happened rather than what you planned, and we design around that.

“This holds without me holding it.”

The three-phase shape comes from Ronan Diego's Holobody methodology. How long each phase runs is set for your situation, not fixed in advance, and a phase that needs longer gets longer.

What you leave with

Three things, once it is over

  • Food that no longer needs managing

Not a set of rules you are keeping to. The reasons underneath the choices have changed, so the choices change on their own and stay changed.

  • Strength you can put a number on

A Power Test at the start and another at the end, and a routine short enough that you will still be doing it in a year.

  • A way of living that holds on its own

The last stretch has no sessions in it, deliberately. You run it yourself while I am still reachable, so you find out it holds before we finish rather than after.

What is usually in it

The pieces a plan is built from

  • Weekly private sessions, an hour as standard and longer when a piece of work needs it
  • Written notes after each session, so keeping track is not your job
  • Messaging on working days, answered within a day
  • A short call at short notice when a week goes sideways
  • Strength coaching, with a Power Test at the start and end of the strength phase
  • WILDERBODY, Eric Edmeades' food psychology program, when food is where the leverage is
  • Techniques from Ronan Diego's Holobody: zero-resistance habits, safety-net routines, body identity work
  • A stretch near the end with no sessions in it, so you run it yourself before we finish

Usually, not always. Yours is written for your situation, and every line of it is open before you start.

I came to this work after years of knowing exactly what I should be doing and not doing it. Food was the last piece to move and the one I had tried hardest at. Nothing shifted until I stopped attacking the behaviour and understood what was driving it.

I coach the way I wish somebody had coached me: freedom as the point, not a better container. If you still need me at the end, I have not finished the job.

What clients say

I have all the tools I need to continue on my own. Joey listens to what you're struggling with and offers targeted advice you can actually use.
John · Coaching client
I felt much fitter and more vital, slept better, had no cravings, and no longer experienced health issues I'd struggled with for years. This is the closest you'll ever get to true food freedom.
Stella · WILDERBODY graduate
I spent years trying different approaches to food. Within the first month I understood why none of them had worked. That alone changed everything.
